Improvidence Impro Lyon is a Lyon-based café-theatre entirely dedicated to theatrical improvisation. Founded in 2014, it is presented as the first theatre in France dedicated exclusively to this discipline and has established itself as a local benchmark for interactive shows and contemporary improv formats.
An intimate room geared towards improvisation
The venue has a 50-seat auditorium where performances are largely based on audience suggestions and real-time creation. The programming mixes improv wrestling, long-form narratives, musical shows, English-language evenings, and comedy productions by local, national, and international companies.
A very active program
Improvidence hosts over a thousand improvisation shows a year and offers recurring formats such as ImproClub, 30 Improvisations Timed Out Or Catch Impro. Each performance is conceived as a unique experience, with a strong connection between artists and spectators thanks to the small capacity of the venue and constant interaction with the audience.
School and professional activities
Beyond performances, Improvidence runs an improvisation school open to beginners as well as experienced actors. The theater also operates a corporate training branch called Impro2, focused on communication, team cohesion and public speaking through improvisation techniques.
Practical information
The theatre is located in Lyon's 3rd arrondissement, near the Liberté, Place Guichard, and Guillotière metro stations. The venue is accessible to people with reduced mobility and features a bar area and Wi-Fi. Ticket prices generally start around €9 for amateur performances and approximately €15 for some professional productions.
