📍 Gerland Natural Park, 24 Allée Pierre de Coubertin, 69007 Lyon, Lyon
💛 Why we love it
Because it's a true Lyon institution—and the playground where Aurélien Giraud, one of the world's best skaters, grew up! Nestled in the heart of Parc de Gerland, this 1,500 m² indoor skatepark is always buzzing, rain or shine. We love the community atmosphere, the evening sessions that stretch until 10 pm, the bowl with its perfect geometry for endless carving, and the free outdoor area for beginners. A must-visit spot for urban skating in Lyon, summer or winter.

Opened in June 2000, the Lyon Skatepark is a building owned by the City of Lyon and entirely managed by the’Association for the Development of Rollerblading, Skateboarding and BMX (ADRSB), affiliated with the French Roller Sports Federation. A pioneer in its time, it remains today one of the leading names in urban skating in the Lyon region.

The interior space covers 1,500 m² and is divided into three complementary zones: a bowl with generous curves, ideal for carving and aerial maneuvers; a air zone for jumps and tricks; and a street zone reproducing urban obstacles (rails, stairs, ledges). Grandstands on the balcony allow you to observe the sessions — a great atmosphere is guaranteed during the contests that punctuate the year.

Outside, a free access modular area The facility is completed: mini ramps, inclined planes and newly renewed modular obstacles welcome beginners and riders of all levels, without registration or entry fees.

Recommendations

  • Registration is required for the first visit. (approximately €15-20) — think about it before you travel, access to the indoor area is not possible without it.
  • THE Helmet is mandatory for everyone; rental on site if needed (approximately €1.50).
  • BMX and roller/skate sessions are not always simultaneous — check the schedule before coming if you practice BMX.
  • For beginners or children, start with the free outdoor area, just opposite the covered area.
  • Courses and workshops are offered throughout the year from age 6 (roller skating) and age 7 (skate skating) — ideal for a first supervised approach.
  • Combine the session with a walk in the Gerland Park All around: football pitches, a bike track, a picnic area…
