Nestled on the top floor of the Musée Gadagne, it boasts a suspended terrace, a Renaissance garden, and an atmosphere unlike any other in Lyon. Mentioned from the 14th century, The garden was originally a sloping piece of farmland. Over the centuries, it became:
- 15th century — orchard and vegetable garden
- 16th century — Renaissance garden laid out by the Pierrevives
- 17th century — creation of a "cool grotto" and a fountain
- 18th century — addition of a greenhouse and planting of vines
- 19th century — complete redesign of the hydraulic network
- 20th century — gradual abandonment
- 1998–2009 — rebirth thanks to the renovation of the museum
