Note its main entrance located at more than 3 meters high, but without a front staircase. To access the interior, the faithful must use the side entrances of the building.

In the 17th century, under the episcopate of Camille de Neufville, the Company of the Holy Sacrament initiated a movement to moralize public life. The Bon-Pasteur convent was created to accommodate women in danger of prostitution.

In 1855, a parish was founded in the Mont-Sauvage district, with a temporary church. In 1869, construction of a permanent church began, on land donated by Father Callot. The architect Clair Tisseur was put in charge of the project in 1874. The church was completed in 1882, but over the decades, it suffered damage. In 1987, a fire damaged the interior. In 2011, the School of Fine Arts organized an exhibition. Closed to the public to this day, the church remains anchored in the collective memory.
