Welcome to the charming Mermet Passage, a picturesque crossing located in the Croix-Rousse slopes district. This public route, accessible through an arched entrance along Rue René-Leynaud, offers a unique experience that ends with a staircase climbing the hill to reach Rue Burdeau.

The stairs of the Mermet passage underwent an artistic metamorphosis in 2019 thanks to the talent of WENC, an artist residing in Belgium. In collaboration with the association Quartier des Capucins and Superposition, which promote urban arts, the passage was transformed into a living work of art, adding a contemporary touch to this historic space.

The name of the passage, Mermet, is a tribute to Doctor Mermet, a municipal councilor of Lyon around 1830, whose house gives access to this charming traboule. History and art blend here to create a captivating experience, connecting the past and the present in a harmonious way.
