A comedy of laughter and emotion, a tribute to the godmothers of war who are as funny as they are touching. 1915, war is raging in Europe. On the front lines, only one thing keeps the soldiers going: the letters they receive from their families. But what about those who have no one? Who will look after them back home? This is the challenge a small group of women set for themselves: to write to these strangers to tell them they are there, that they haven't forgotten them. In the form of a comedy, 'Les jolies petites choses' (The Pretty Little Things) pays tribute to these women who fought in their own way to ensure that this little spark within us never dies, even in the darkest times of our history.
