Único Maître Artisan Glacier is a renowned artisanal ice cream shop located in Lyon's 1st arrondissement, on the slopes of Croix-Rousse. Founded in 2017, it has established itself as a benchmark for premium ice cream thanks to its natural and locally sourced creations, made from fresh fruit and seasonal ingredients.

Craftsmanship and philosophy

Founded by Julia Canu and Tiago Barbosa, graduates of the Institut Paul Bocuse, Único is based on a simple philosophy: working exclusively with raw ingredients and no artificial flavorings. The ice creams and sorbets change daily according to the season and the availability of regional producers. Signature flavors include Brazilian vanilla, Bahia chocolate, and basil-raspberry, alongside more adventurous combinations like cucumber-mint or peach-verbena.

Creations and taste experience

The shop offers a wide range of products: ice creams, sorbets, popsicles, vacherins, baked Alaskas, and even frozen yule logs. Sixteen flavors are featured daily—eight ice creams and eight sorbets—guaranteeing a constantly changing taste experience. The cones are homemade, baked fresh daily in the kitchen on Rue des Augustins.

Local engagement and workshops

Único sources its ingredients from over 80 producers located within a 100km radius of Lyon, promoting local produce and sustainable production. The company also offers ice cream making workshops, giving the public the opportunity to discover the creation process, from the selection of raw materials to the making of sorbets and ice cream bars.

Expansion and recognition

With growing success, Único opened a second store on rue d'Algérie and developed complementary brands such as Fresco, dedicated to Italian-style ice cream, and Minnà, Specializing in frozen pastries, this ice cream shop is renowned for its creativity and the quality of its products. It is among Lyon's top gourmet destinations, highly praised by both locals and tourists.
