Whether with Siren Song of the Counter-Culture (2004), The Sufferer & The Witness (2006), Appeal To Reason (2008), Endgame (2011), or Wolves (2017), Rise Against has consistently asserted its central place in the punk rock scene. Catchy melodies, frenetic rhythms, aggressive tones, and politically charged lyrics: the Chicago quartet draws on everything that hardcore punk and melodic hardcore have to offer. In the four years since Rise Against's last album, Nowhere Generation II, the world has continued to be torn apart, and this regression has not gone unnoticed by the band. The new album, Ricochet, examines these crises closely and dissects them with clear lucidity, raw emotion, and a global perspective. It bears witness to the chaos of the moment, expresses complex truths with seismic power, and raises awareness of the consequences that could affect us all. And this is achieved through a collection of intoxicating rock 'n' roll songs with infectious choruses that sound best when played at ear-splitting volume. This album was designed to be part of the solution.
