On the occasion of the European Heritage Days 2026, there Labor Exchange Lyon opens its doors for a guided tour of its rich historical heritage. Built between 1929 and 1936 by the architect Charles Meysson, this emblematic building in the Guichard district is a major witness to Lyon's social and architectural history.

Accompanied by Yannis Cosmas, As a historian, you will explore the spaces steeped in history within this place. You will particularly admire the large outdoor mosaic from the rue de Créqui, created in 1934 by 35 mosaicists based on a work by the painter Fernand Fargeot, representing «"The city beautified by work"». You will recognize the figures of the architect Meysson and the mayor Édouard Herriot. Inside, you will discover the exceptional decoration entrusted to a dozen Lyon artists in 1936, with its imitation plaster panels and large paintings, some of which are from the «"socialist realism"».
