For the 2026 European Heritage Days, come and explore the...’Municipal passementerie workshop. Preserved in its original state, this family workshop of a braid and fringe weaver is one of the very last living witnesses of the Lyon passementerie established on the Croix-Rousse plateau.

Dive into the fascinating world of Ms. Létourneau, master passementier and Best Craftswoman of France (1976).

During this guided tour, discover the intimate history of this preserved place and the family that brought it to life. A complete immersion into the daily lives of these artisans working with silk and the most precious materials.

Before your very eyes, the loom equipped with Jacquard mechanism comes to life. Listen to its captivating rhythm and imagine the hectic daily life of the silk weavers' families, orchestrated by the song of their machines!

Heritage Days 2026 Program

• Weaving demonstration: Witness the operation of a 1908 braid weaving loom and discover the precision of handwork.
• Guided tour & presentation: Explanations on the passementerie manufacturing chain, the noble materials used and the passementerie trade in the 19th and 20th centuries.

Practical Information & Access

Organized visits on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 September 2026 at 10am, 11am, 2pm, 3pm, 4pm and 5pm (duration: 1 hour).
