For the 2026 European Heritage Days, come and explore the...’Municipal passementerie workshop. Preserved in its original state, this family workshop of a braid and fringe weaver is one of the very last living witnesses of the Lyon passementerie established on the Croix-Rousse plateau.

Formerly the workshop of Mr. Henri Letourneau, this heritage site is a concentration of exceptional textile know-how: braids, fringes, tapers and piping in silk or gold were made there for haute couture and prestigious furnishings.

Heritage Days 2026 Program

• Weaving demonstration: Witness the operation of a 1908 braid weaving loom and discover the precision of handwork.
• Guided tour & presentation: Explanations on the passementerie manufacturing chain, the noble materials used and the passementerie trade in the 19th and 20th centuries.

Practical Information & Access

Organized visits on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 September 2026 at 10am, 11am, 2pm, 3pm, 4pm and 5pm (duration: 1 hour).
