Description

Presented by Gerard Drouot Productions (LR-21-11645/13065), Nile Rodgers is a musical icon: composer, producer, arranger, and guitarist, his inimitable groove has influenced several generations. Inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame, and a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, he is also a producer-in-residence at Apple Music and president of the Songwriters Hall of Fame. As co-founder of CHIC, Nile Rodgers redefined the sound of pop, disco, and dance music with anthems that defined their era, such as "Le Freak," the best-selling single in Atlantic Records history, and "Good Times," the track that helped launch the hip-hop revolution. His influence extended through the CHIC Organization's iconic productions, including Sister Sledge's "We Are Family" and Diana Ross's "I'm Coming Out." Nile Rodgers' production work for global superstars such as David Bowie ("Let's Dance"), Madonna ("Like a Virgin") and Duran Duran ("The Reflex") has helped sell over 500 million albums and 100 million singles worldwide, cementing his status as one of the most prolific hitmakers in music history. In recent years, Nile Rodgers has continued to expand his creative scope through innovative collaborations that transcend generations and genres. He co-wrote and performed "Unforgiven" by global K-pop phenomenon LE SSERAFIM, contributed to "Honey Boy" by Purple Disco Machine and Benjamin Ingrosso (with Shenseea), "Just a Dance" with Alfie Templeman, "For Life" with Kygo and Zack Abel, and "Talk to Me" with Damiano David and Tyla. From CHIC's dancefloor classics to Daft Punk's "Get Lucky," via Beyoncé's "Cuff It" and "Levi's Jeans," not forgetting his latest global hits, Nile Rodgers remains the pulse of modern music, a bridge between the timeless and the avant-garde.
