For the 2026 European Heritage Days, come and visit the’Mattelon Workshop, A family-run hand-weaving workshop, listed as a Historical Monument. An authentic testament to the silk industry and the home-based work of the silk weavers in the 19th and 20th centuries, this exceptional site opens its doors to you for an immersion in the textile history of Lyon.
Located on the second floor of a typical silk weaver's building built in 1878 and then taken over in 1939 by master weaver Georges Mattelon, the workshop has preserved its original looms in perfect working order.
The event is entirely free and accessible only By reservation / appointment (limited to 18 people per time slot).
