On the occasion of the European Heritage Days 2026, there Villa Berliet opens its doors to the public. Built between 1910 and 1912 for the industrialist Marius Berliet, This atypical residence breaks with the codes of the traditional Lyon bourgeoisie by establishing itself in the Montchat district, near its Monplaisir factory.

This villa is a true gem of the’Art Nouveau, a decorative movement born in Nancy in 1901. Marius Berliet entrusted the interior decoration and furnishings to two renowned artists from Nancy: Jacques Gruber And Louis Majorelle. The decorative motifs, inspired by nature, are interpreted with elegance and restraint, reflecting the patron's taste. Listed since 1989 on the Supplementary Inventory of Historic Monuments, the villa now houses the headquarters and archives of the Marius Berliet Automobile Foundation.
